HHCO

HHCO, or hexahydrocannabinol acetate, is not naturally present in the hemp plant like HHC. It is a derivative of hemp and classified as a hydrogenated compound. The synthesis of HHCO involves a multi-step process. Initially, hemp extract containing high levels of delta 8-THC is used to create hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) through hydrogenation. Subsequently, acetic anhydride is applied to the HHC compound, leading to the formation of HHCO in a process called acetylation. During acetylation, a hydrogen atom is replaced by an acetyl group in the compound, resulting in increased potency between 1.5 to 3 times that of HHC.
