HHC

« Back to Glossary Index

Hexahydrocannabinal, also known as HHC, has only been found in minute concentrations and has not been available in sufficient quantities for consumption until recently. HHC is produced through a process called hydrogenation, where all the double-bonds in the THC molecule are broken and replaced with hydrogen atoms. Although the difference between HHC and THC is subtle, it alters the molecular structure and the way it interacts with the Endocannabinoid receptors and pain receptors in the human body. Despite these differences, HHC offers similar effects and potency to THC. Some reports suggest that HHC is more potent than Delta 8-THC, but slightly less potent than Delta 9-THC.
