Cannabis pertains to a dioecious plant found within the Cannabis genus, notably the hemp variety Cannabis sativa, which is native to East Asia. This plant features leaves, bud flowers, and a sturdy fibrous stalk. Humans have been cultivating cannabis worldwide for millennia, recognizing it not only for its psychoactive properties but also for its numerous beneficial applications. The word “cannabis” finds its origins in the Greek term “kánnabis,” which directly translates to hemp.
