Cannabaceae, commonly referred to as the hemp family, encompasses a group of flowering plants. Within this family, there are 170 species distributed across 11 genera. Some well-known genera include Cannabis (hemp), Humulus (hops), and Celtis (hackberries). Cannabaceae is classified under the order of Rosales, a group of climbing plants characterized by petalless flowers and one-seeded fruits. These plants are dioecious, meaning they have distinct male and female specimens and rely on wind pollination.
