Fenchone
Fenchone is classified as a monoterpenoid terpene compound. It serves as a significant constituent in absinthe and is extracted as the essential oil from fennel. Other natural sources of fenchone include cedarwood, African wild sage, and Spanish lavender. The aroma of fenchone is characterized by a potent earthy yet mentholated camphor-like scent. This terpene is commonly employed in aromatherapy, with its reputed anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties. Fenchone is also known for its insect-repelling qualities, wound-healing capabilities, and effectiveness in managing yeast infections. Its boiling point is measured at 380℉ (194℃).
