Camphene

« Back to Glossary Index

Camphene, a terpene, occurs naturally in different conifer trees, cannabis, and various herbs. It serves as the primary terpene in camphor oil and can also be found in citronella, sage oil, ginger oil, and valerian root. This cyclic monoterpene emits a remarkably robust earthy, sweet, herbal spice aroma. It is frequently used as an additive in fragrances and flavorings. Moreover, it is a common ingredient in modern medicinal analgesic topicals. Beyond that, camphene exhibits other therapeutic benefits, including antimicrobial, antiviral, and pain-relieving effects.
